Head of Technology – Leading Platform and Cloud Enablement
At the Vitrolife Group, we work every day to unlock the full potential of science and technology to reduce the barriers towards building a family. Together we help our customers and their patients to fulfill the dream of having a baby.
Vitrolife Group is now seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Technology to lead our platform and infrastructure capabilities across a global and fast-evolving organization. This is a key leadership role within our enabling layer, responsible for ensuring that our digital foundations are secure, scalable, and empower the rest of the company to innovate with confidence.
About the Role
As Head of Technology, you will lead one or more teams focused on cloud infrastructure, platform services, DevOps enablement, cybersecurity, and integration tooling. Your mission is to provide modern and reliable platform solutions that serve internal teams and external-facing applications across the Vitrolife Group.
This is both a strategic and operational role—you will work cross-functionally with product owners, analytics leads, IT, and development teams to ensure our infrastructure is resilient, performant, and easy to consume. While Azure is our main cloud, the landscape also includes AWS services and on-premise solutions such as deep learning clusters, gene sequencing environments, and distributed edge nodes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution and performance of our internal and external platforms, with full ownership of availability, scalability, and security
- Manage enabling services in areas such as cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps engineering, and integrations
- Provide infrastructure as a service to internal development, data, and product teams
- Define platform architecture strategies that support hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, on-premise)
- Drive automation, observability, and best practices across cloud and infrastructure services
- Ensure compliance with internal and external security and data protection standards
- Build and develop a skilled team of platform and cloud engineers, promoting a collaborative and enabling culture
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a relevant university degree and several years of experience leading cloud or platform engineering teams
- Brings deep expertise in Azure infrastructure and services (AKS, App Services, networking, Azure AD)
- Has a strong operational mindset with experience managing availability, performance, and security across hybrid environments
- Understands DevOps principles and has hands-on familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and cloud-native tooling
- Can translate business needs into technical strategies and communicate across both technical and non-technical teams
- Is fluent in English, with excellent collaboration and communication skills
Meriting Experience
- Experience with AWS and managing multi-cloud environments
- Background in managing on-prem high-performance computing or edge infrastructure
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, and observability tooling
- Understanding of ISO 27001 or similar security standards
- Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven industry (e.g., medtech, life sciences)
- Proven leadership in agile and cross-functional environments
What We Offer
- A high-impact role in a growing and globally respected medtech company
- The opportunity to shape the future of Vitrolife Group’s technical foundations
- A collaborative, innovative, and supportive team culture
- A role at the intersection of strategy, technology, and business enablement
