Head of Sustainability
At Vitrolife Group, we work every day to unlock the full potential of science and technology to reduce the barriers to building a family. Together with our customers, we help people around the world fulfil the dream of having a baby.
We are now looking for a visionary and hands-on Head of Sustainability to lead and elevate our sustainability agenda across the Vitrolife Group. This is a unique opportunity to drive real change in a sector where every action contributes to future generations.
About the Role
Reporting to the VP Strategy & Sustainability, and supported by a specialised team, you will drive Vitrolife Group’s sustainability strategy forward - managing and directing our environmental and social impact initiatives across the value chain. You will represent Vitrolife Group as a thought leader on sustainability in the IVF industry, in public forums, conferences, and across customer and stakeholder interactions. You are comfortable presenting at Board and Executive level and can translate complex sustainability topics into actionable insights that inspire change.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Gothenburg, Aarhus or Valencia, with travel to global sites.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sustainability Leadership
Shape and lead the long-term sustainability roadmap. Advise executive leadership and Board on ESG matters and act as a trusted voice in strategic decisions.
- Ethical & Responsible Business Practices
Champion ethical and responsible business conduct, particularly where reproductive health, patient safety, and data privacy intersect, embedding sustainability principles into ethical frameworks, policies, and decisions.
- Sustainability in Product & Business Development
Guide and support the integration of sustainability principles across our value chain. Champion sustainable innovation in collaboration with R&D, Operations, and Commercial teams.
- Supply Chain Sustainability, Due Diligence & Transaction Support
Ensure responsible sourcing practices across the supply chain, including supplier ESG evaluations, human rights due diligence, and alignment with Vitrolife Group’s Principles for Responsible Business Conduct. Drive sustainability-related assessments during M&A due diligence processes, helping identify risks and opportunities in target companies' supply chains and operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Public Representation
Represent Vitrolife Group as a sustainability leader in the IVF field. Speak at industry events and engage with customers, regulators, investors, and partners to promote sustainable practices.
- Internal Engagement & Communication
Build awareness and ownership across the organisation by leading internal trainings and initiatives. Communicate progress, results, and strategy through digital channels, workshops, and campaigns.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and standards and lead the preparation of Vitrolife Group Annual and Sustainability Report according to the EU CSRD regulation. Oversee monitoring and continuous improvement in ESG performance, with a strong focus on CO2 accounting.
What You Bring
At Vitrolife Group, our core values - Integrity, Quality, Innovation, and Collaboration - guide us in everything we do. To succeed in this role, these values must also be at the heart of how you lead, make decisions, and drive change. You thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments and excel at building trust and aligning diverse stakeholders around common goals. You also bring:
- A university degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior or strategic sustainability role.
